Weeks Offered
The first of its kind – and only at FIA.
Project Forge is our flagship invention camp: a week where kids sketch ideas, wire electronics, code behaviors, test prototypes, and build something completely their own. From light-up gadgets to custom sensors to sibling alarms, campers learn how real inventors work by experimenting boldly, fixing what flops, and pushing their ideas further every day.
Choose Your Week Based on Grade Level
Incoming Grades 3-5
Campers create their own Micro:bit gadgets, wiring simple circuits and coding them with block code — or Python if they’re feeling extra adventurous. Note: Campers in grades 6+ are also welcome to join this week.
Incoming Grades 5-9
Campers take on bigger circuits, more wires, and deeper engineering, building custom Arduino-powered gadgets and programming them with C++.
What Campers Will Do
Dream up an invention (or remix one of our wild example builds)
Sketch a plan, wire the hardware, and bring it to life with code
Prototype, test, troubleshoot, and level up their creation until it works just right
They’ll Leave With
A working gadget powered by their own circuits and code
Real coding experience they can build on after camp
Problem-solving confidence and the grit to keep going when things get tricky
Repeat-friendly: Campers choose a new invention every time, allowing returning students to explore different ideas, sensors, and builds.
